Hand and Foot is a captivating variant of the popular card game Canasta, which involves the use of three to six decks. Typically, the number of decks used is one more than the number of players. To achieve victory in this game, players must strategically collect and organize their cards.
In Hand and Foot, players are required to pick up a specific set of cards known as the "Foot". In order to declare victory and "go out", players must have one natural Canasta (a set of seven cards of the same rank) and one mixed Canasta (a set of seven cards that includes wild cards).
An intriguing aspect of Hand and Foot is the valuation of red threes, which are worth 500 points. However, be cautious as these points are always scored against you.
During gameplay, when you pick up the pile, you are only allowed to collect the top seven cards. This limitation adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement to the game.
